Jack's mom contacted us about our Premium Training Treats. She brought him along when she came to pick them up. I, of course, wanted to meet her little guy. Jack won my heart the minute I met him. In typical Golden fashion, he was curled up against my legs the instant I opened my front door. We had time for a puppy coaching session and it was immediately apparent that Jack was no ordinary puppy, but an exceptional little guy. He is well on his way to becoming a perfect pup.
"Heidi at Perfect Pup is amazing! I only stopped in to pick up some doggy treats and she was so gracious with her time and knowledge of dog behaviors. I have been a dog owner most of my life and she shared information I had never known. If you have a dog, do yourself a favor and go to Perfect Pup. Their treats are healthy with no additives or fillers, and strike up a conversation with Heidi. I promise you and your furry friend will be happy you did !!"

We met Acacia's mom just before the family picked Acacia out from the litter. We were able to visit the home and orient the family on the different language that dogs use and to help them see what the addition to their family would be like if they did it the Perfect Pup way. They were able to prepare themselves mentally for what a puppy needs and physically for what they would need on hand for the various puppy stages. When we finished the visit they were all on the same page as to how they would interact with the new dog. In turn, they have been able to foster an environment for the perfect dog for their family. Even though there are many moments of frustration and discouragement while learning to communicate effectively with a dog, there are also many moments of success and absolute joy when a dog feels safe enough to trust their human family and live among them harmoniously as a dog.
"I cannot say enough about Heidi and her genuine love and zest for dogs. She is informed, communicates well and captures the dogs attention easily. So much of the information we have learned from her about our dog, just makes sense! She is knowledgeable about overall dog health and behaviors. Heidi is always learning fun and exciting ideas, tips and tricks for you to make training fun and rewarding for both you and your dog. Having a well trained dog that respects you because he/she knows you love and respect him/her is priceless. She was a huge help to us while training our pup. Heidi loves what she does and it shows!"

Maximus (his middle name) was adopted by his family when he was 11 months old. He was purchased from a pet store (which likely means a Puppy Mill) and did not have much contact with humans or dogs while his original owner was otherwise occupied with life. His adopted human mom has put in an incredible amount of time trying to help him function in society. She has done an incredible job. At the moments of most fatigue and discouragement, she hangs in there. Maximus truly loves her. Her efforts have done him a world of good.
"Heidi knows how to teach people to calm dogs. As the owner of a rambunctious rescue, I have learned techniques from her to quietly and gently shape his behavior. She has been able to instill confidence in me that I can deal with a challenging young dog. She offers effective insights into puppy psychology in short practice sessions. I am a better dog owner for knowing Heidi and her pups. Your dogs will thank you if you work with Heidi. They will be calmer and trust you more."

We met Charlie out in the cold weather on a morning walk. Nali and Charlie instantly hit it off and we had a chance to go out later and talk about our Perfect Pup principles in a park in town. We introduced the long-line and the "watch" concept. Charlie did great. We have had the privilege of having her over to our home for a puppy retreat and daycare a few times as well. She is a darling girl! We would keep her if her family didn't love her so stinking much!
"We often hear about how people use "love languages" to improve communication and strengthen their relationships with one another. Well Heidi is one of those exceptional people who is able to transfer that understanding and skill to the dogs she works with. When she first met Charlie, she was quickly able to pick up on what Charlie needed from me to feel happy and secure while giving me the encouragement and tools to train her in a gentle but effective way. Charlie also spent a week with Heidi and her dogs while I was on vacation and I was impressed to see an improvement in Charlie's behavior even in such a short time. I will also admit that Charlie was so happy with Heidi that she pouted for a whole day after I brought her home. Talk about speaking a dog's love language. Heidi is wonderful and I absolutely recommend her."
